Terms of Use
These terms govern use of the Florida Food Watch website and the inspection-based information published here.
Effective date: August 20, 2026
Acceptance and eligibility
By accessing or using FloridaFoodWatch.com, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website or create an account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or submit personal information. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Informational and editorial purpose
Florida Food Watch publishes news, original reporting, educational material, and summaries of publicly available restaurant inspection, licensing, closure, reopening, and other regulatory information. Content is provided for informational and editorial purposes and is not legal, medical, food-safety, regulatory, financial, or other professional advice.
Inspection information and current conditions
Inspection reports describe conditions observed at a particular time. An establishment may correct violations, undergo additional inspections, reopen, close permanently, change ownership, or otherwise change status after an inspection or publication date. Florida Food Watch does not guarantee that a page reflects an establishment’s present condition, ownership, or operating status.
Florida Food Watch is not an emergency or regulatory service. Suspected foodborne illness, active food-safety hazards, or other urgent concerns should be reported to the appropriate government or emergency authority.
Official records control
When Florida Food Watch summarizes or discusses a government inspection or licensing action, the official agency record remains the authoritative source. Readers should review the underlying official record before making decisions that require complete, current, or legally authoritative information.
No government affiliation
Florida Food Watch is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation or any other government agency unless expressly stated.
Accounts, watchlists, and alerts
Florida Food Watch currently offers free Basic accounts with a watchlist limit of 10 restaurants. Account features, limits, eligibility, and availability may change. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, and promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Watchlists and email alerts are convenience features. Alerts may be delayed, incomplete, duplicated, or unavailable and should not be relied on as an official or real-time notification service. Florida Food Watch may modify, suspend, or discontinue account, watchlist, newsletter, or alert features.
We may restrict or terminate accounts used for abuse, fraud, impersonation, security attacks, unlawful activity, or other violations of these Terms.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions.
- Introduce malicious code, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, disrupt the website, or interfere with another user’s access.
- Use automated requests, scraping, or data extraction in a manner that places an unreasonable load on the service, circumvents technical restrictions, or materially interferes with normal operation.
- Impersonate Florida Food Watch, a government agency, another user, or another person or organization.
- Use the website, its forms, or account features for spam, harassment, fraud, infringement, or unlawful activity.
Corrections, updates, and submissions
You may submit a reasonable correction or update request through the Contact page. Please identify the page, establishment, claimed error, and supporting official record or other reliable documentation. Submission does not guarantee removal, correction, or any particular editorial outcome. Florida Food Watch may evaluate the official record, later inspections, ownership changes, newsworthiness, accuracy, and editorial context.
You retain any rights you hold in material you submit. By sending a correction request, story tip, message, or supporting material, you authorize Florida Food Watch to review, store, verify, and use it as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate the matter, maintain records, and prepare or update editorial coverage. Do not submit confidential information or material you do not have the right to provide.
Intellectual property
Original Florida Food Watch text, graphics, branding, compilations, page designs, software, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Government records and third-party materials remain subject to their respective legal status and rights. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Florida Food Watch content, branding, or technology to you.
Advertising and sponsored content
The website may display programmatic advertising, direct advertising, sponsorships, affiliate links, or sponsored material. Paid or sponsored relationships will be identified when required. Advertising relationships do not change official government records and do not determine Florida Food Watch’s description of an inspection result. Advertisers and linked third parties are responsible for their own products, services, claims, and privacy practices.
Third-party services and links
The website may depend on or link to government agencies, hosting and security providers, map or social platforms, advertisers, analytics services, email providers, restaurants, and other third parties. Florida Food Watch does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, accuracy, products, security, or privacy practices.
Service availability and changes
We may update, correct, remove, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the website without guaranteeing advance notice. Maintenance, provider outages, security events, data-source changes, and circumstances outside our control may interrupt access or delay information and alerts.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and all content, accounts, watchlists, alerts, and other features are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Florida Food Watch disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Florida Food Watch and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from reliance on inspection summaries, delayed or missing alerts, third-party content, service interruptions, unauthorized access, or use of the website. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law and severability
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal or other applicable law controls. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms as the website and its services change. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
